As a Salesforce Technical Architect at Horizontal Digital, you will manage, develop, and implement technology solutions for clients. The Technical Architect plays a critical role for the team and will lead the development of our Salesforce projects.
We’re looking for a digital technology expert who is comfortable leading as a player/coach. In this role you will manage developer resources and work side-by-side with project teams as an active participant in defining requirements, shaping technical solutions, and taking a hands-on approach to implementation and quality assurance. You will work across multiple projects with a diverse team consisting of a mix of front and back-end developers, digital strategists, project managers, and the UX/creative team. Your goal is to manage a team to produce great work, expand our technical capabilities, and help clients meet digital objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions on the Salesforce platform.
- Design scalable, flexible, and efficient solutions that align with best practices, industry standards, and the organization's long-term goals.
- Create solution design documents that outline the architecture, data model, integration approach, security considerations, and other technical aspects of the solution.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring that solutions are built according to the architectural design and best practices.
- Conduct regular design reviews to validate that the implementation aligns with the proposed architecture and requirements.
- Stay updated on the latest Salesforce features, updates, and trends to ensure solutions are leveraging the platform's capabilities effectively.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and other visual representations to communicate the solution's design to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Document design decisions, considerations, and rationale behind architectural choices to provide context for future developments and maintenance.
- Maintain documentation throughout the project lifecycle, updating it as the solution evolves and new requirements emerge.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and solution architects to gather and clarify requirements, and define the scope of the solution.
- Identify areas where standard Salesforce features can be utilized versus custom development, balancing customization with maintainability and scalability.
- Propose integration strategies to connect Salesforce with other systems, ensuring data consistency and seamless workflows.
- Evaluate and recommend AppExchange apps or third-party tools that can enhance the solution and address specific business needs.
- Define data models, object relationships, and security models to ensure data integrity and proper access control.
- Review and validate code produced by development teams to ensure it aligns with the architectural guidelines and coding standards.
- Conduct/Support testing and quality assurance activities to verify that the solution functions as intended and meets business requirements.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including executives and business users, to ensure a common understanding of the solution's benefits and implications.
- Participate in workshops, meetings, and presentations to explain technical decisions and gain buy-in from stakeholders.
- Be involved in pre-sales activities and Manage a team of technical leads
Who you are:
- Master in Salesforce technologies, including Apex, Lightning Components, Visualforce, Salesforce APIs, triggers, workflows, and other customization tools.
- Strong Experience and ability in designing scalable, efficient, and sustainable solutions that align with business requirements and adhere to Salesforce best practices.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing integrations between Salesforce and external systems using APIs, middleware, ETL tools, and similar mechanisms.
- Excellent analytical skills to dissect complex business and technical challenges, proposing innovative solutions within the Salesforce platform's context.
- Expert in communication ensures seamless collaboration with stakeholders across both technical and non-technical domains, along with clear articulation of technical concepts.
- Ability to adeptly guide and mentor Technical Leads, development teams, provide direction on technical choices, and offer authoritative technical guidance.
- Good to have insights extend to industry-specific prerequisites, regulations, and standards that could impact Salesforce implementations, particularly in sectors like healthcare, finance, etc.
- Possess an understanding of business processes and requirements, skillfully translating them into technical solutions that yield tangible business value.
- Ability in Recognizing the swift evolution of the technology landscape, you embrace adaptability and willingly embrace new technologies and methodologies.
- Have a good understanding of the Salesforce Deployment process and tools used for the same (SFDX, ANT, GIT, Copado, Gearset, CI/CD, devops)
What you bring:
- Experience in architecting complex solutions on the Salesforce platform. This involves designing solutions that meet business needs while ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability
- 5+ years of client-facing consulting/professional services experience.
- Must have 5+ years of experience working with Salesforce technologies around design, refinement and implementing Salesforce solutions, including various Salesforce clouds (Sales, Service, Experience, etc.), Apex programming, Visualforce, Lightning components, and integrations.
- Extensive experience in integrating Salesforce with other systems, both internal and external, is important. This includes proficiency in integration patterns, tools like APIs, middleware, and data synchronization
- Experience defining the structure of the system, it’s interfaces and the principles that guide the client.
- Strong skills in system documentation (Architecture diagrams, ERD’s, process flows, data flow diagrams etc")
- Experience with full project lifecycles from requirement gathering to implementation and post-deployment support
- Experience in Health Cloud and/or Financial Services Cloud.
- Experience with Call centers stand up.
- Experience working within cross-functional project team to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Prior experience working in areas of integration technology and driving new points of view and capabilities
- Experience with coding, testing, debugging, implementing and documenting complex integrations
- Prior experience in management methodologies (waterfall, agile) enterprise planning, estimation, and project management (single and multi-site)
- Prior experience in managing small team of technical individuals.
- While not mandatory, your possession of Salesforce certifications like Certified Technical Architect, Application Architect, and System Architect underscores your expertise and unwavering dedication to the platform
