This position is one of the first touchpoints that our customers and potential prospects will have with the Horizontal Digital brand. The role therefore requires an energetic, organized, and motivated individual to research and understand our addressable market and to initiate conversations about how Horizontal Digital can help organizations improve their digital strategies and associated outcomes.   

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will interact with prospective clients of all levels across a variety of industry verticals and will work closely with our field sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities. BDRs typically work at or close to the “top of the funnel,” executing outreach campaigns as directed and in partnership with Sales and Marketing. BDRs make smart decisions about where and how to partner with internal and external resources – the new business team, SMEs, marketing, executive leadership and strategic partners – to deliver successful outcomes. BDRs bring forward their own ideas for how to maximize our revenue potential through smart application of our tools and skills and may be asked to partner with field sellers throughout the opportunity lifecycle. 

What you’ll do:  

  • Effectively manage outreach campaigns  
  • Work with sales organization to schedule meetings  
  • Partner with sales team to build and optimize quality pipeline  
  • Nurture opportunities per conversion targets  
  • Stay engaged with and nurture deals as directed   
  • Sort, track and manage inbound leads and business inquiries    
  • Research prospective customers, their industries and their competitive landscapes to align with documented Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) priorities  
  • Partner with leadership to plan, implement and optimize business development strategy via a structured approach to pipeline design  
  • Create messaging content for Horizontal’s BD and sales organization to use for prospecting & follow-ups   
  • Coordinate, manage and track ongoing training and growth opportunities for sales teams including partner webinars, certifications, internal team knowledge transfer, etc.  
  • Support above the funnel process for role-specific technologies including Lead Forensics, ZoomInfo, Sales Cloud, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, BuiltWith, etc.  
  • Help identify quarterly / yearly pipeline projections based on net-new opportunities brought in by top-of-funnel and prospecting activity    

What you bring:   

  • 1-5 years relevant work experience  
  • An excellent communicator (written and oral) with great interpersonal skills     
  • Comfort in metrics-driven organization (including number of emails, calls made per day)  
  • Ability to analyze industry trends and craft relevant messaging  
  • Comfort with CRM and related technologies used to track and manage activities  
  • Experienced with core elements of selling tools a plus, including SalesCloud, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc., and Microsoft Office products.

The pay range for this full-time position is $50,000 to $75,000 per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on the posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position across all US locations as of the date of this posting. Within the range, actual offered compensation is dependent upon the individual’s work location and additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education and training, internal equity among the team, and applicable employment laws. Please note the compensation details in the US role posting reflects base salary only and doesn’t include discretionary performance bonus or other incentives (if applicable).
